The Scale Breakers - 'Leftovers'
This fall, along with browning autumn leaves and a drop in the temperature comes a humble offering that will no-doubt warm you . September 3rd, 2010, The Scale Breakers are set to release 'Leftovers', the prequel serving to their studio album 'FOOOOD', a meal due to be served early 2011.
This record is the culmination of both technique and precise measurement. Both Sub & Guy have raided the pantry to get this project cooked up fresh, just in time for the Canadian tour planned under the same name. 'Leftovers' was originally intended to be a mixtape, just a few tasty hors-deovres to fill the bellies of hungry SB fans nationwide until the release of the studio album. Unfortunately plans changed after comments regarding early orders were coming back so positive, so instead it was agreed upon 'Leftovers' would be more than a sample, giving ample time for 2011's masterpiece to thaw out…
The album is a 23 track cruise down the Grocery Aisle that is the Music Business, stopping a few times for a much needed bite to eat along the way. With juicy production credits going out to many of Canada's finest, including Stu Ray, Ozziechan, SUBS & Speechless, and a little seasoning from below the 49th with L.A.'s Kool Ace Ha making his presence felt, it's clear this album will keep the party, and the BBQ moving. 'Leftovers' is not without it's list of flavourful features either, as Chad Hatcher, Kyprios & Marmalade of Sweatshop Union, Moka Only, Ishkan, Konfidential, Snak & Evil all add their compliments to the piece. Also included in the recipe is the B-Sharp camp, including Matt Brevner, The Shottas ( KAi & Atlin), Ivan Townsend and even manager Darcy 'dEtAiL$' McBride throwing in a little spice, with all the guys stopping by for at least an 8 bar serving. After the Menu was set in stone, audio guru Speechless Beats stepped in for the final touches, bringing each dish to the table with the perfect balance of taste and texture. Inserted throughout the record are well thought out skits, you know, think of them as a chance to wipe your chin. It also brings you inside the relationship of the Plus-Sized Pair, shedding some light on the moniker so often attached to the two big men…yup, I mean the 'A' word. (and no, it's not apple!)
For dessert the B-Sharp team has cooked up a few videos to go alongside, with Studio Videos for 'Small Town Talent Remix' and 'Get 'Em' courtesy of Multimedia chef-to-the-stars Stuey Kubrick. Along with those come Street Videos for 'Fly' and 'Arrive' both prepared with precision by B-Sharp house-chef's Matt Brevner & Alex Yelizarov. This is an unprecedented amount to consume I know, but all this means is that the buffet table will be plenty big enough for 'FOOOOD' when it's cleared in early 2011. For now though, get your knife and fork, tighten that bib, make sure you got a TALL glass of your favourite beverage…and dig in, because 'Leftovers' is a meal on it's own…
